• Superior problem-solving, organizational, communication and analytical skills
• Knowledgeable of and assure compliance with applicable laws, policies and regulations

Position Summary / Experience:
The
Senior Software Engineer will lead new product software design and
development for custom cloud-connected embedded devices based on
multiple platforms including 16 or 32 bit microcontrollers, Linux,
Android, iOS, and Windows. The engineer must work collaboratively with
hardware, mechanical and other software engineers throughout the product
development life cycle. Strong professional communication skills will
be used to interface with clients, vendors, and executive management.
The engineer should possess the following skills / experiences:
Required Skills:
- Minimum 5 years software development experience, 10 or more preferable.
- Strong knowledge of Bluetooth Low Energy, Wi-fi, and other wireless technologies.
- Capable of combing broad knowledge to design connected device architectures (software and hardware block diagram) using personal area networking, cloud technologies, and REST API’s.
- Strong multi-language programming skills (C/C++, C#, Java, Objective-C, Python, Ruby, etc).
- Strong knowledge of design patterns and object oriented design.
- Experience developing GUI applications for one or more of Android, iOS, Windows, and Linux.
- Ability to follow hardware schematics and debug hardware while designing/developing software.
- Familiarity with embedded I/O: storage technology, battery technologies, sensors, wireless, etc
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to provide accurate estimates for project planning purposes.
- Capable of mentoring junior engineers on design and development of modern software.
- Ability to choose and configure an operating system and core processor platform for a complex system (Linux, RTOS, Windows Compact Embedded etc).
- Experience writing embedded software for 8,16, or 32 bit microcontrollers. Especially Renesas.
- Tools: doxygen, git, Redmine, Eclipse, HEW, IAR, unit testing frameworks (JUnit, GoogleTest, etc).
- Experience working in a highly regulated environment similar to ISO 13485 and IEC 62304.
Education:
- B.S in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Biomedical Engineering
