At a time when unemployment levels are unacceptably high, it is critical that we do all that we can to make it easier for local businesses to expand and create the jobs that our community need.  The sense of purpose, accomplishment and productivity that comes with a job cannot be bestowed by government.  It is created and grown in the heart of every Employee, Business Owner and Entrepreneur.

 No matter the issue, having a job gives you a sense of self, enables you to participate in your community and gives you a vested interest in the way your government operates.

“Many people are uncertain about
the future economy and need to be empowered.  Using a holistic approach, the expo workshops focus on the mental, physical and financial well being of attendees. This develops competitive advantage in the 21st century for confident management of careers and small businesses.” states Carl E. Reid, Chief Operations Officer with Empowering Today’s Professionals.

Clear Out Your Paper Piles

“Three Rules of Work:

Out of clutter find simplicity;

From discord find harmony;

In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.” Albert Einstein

Where do you start when your space is filled with papers?

Analyze Your Piles

Many answers to your organizing problems can be found within the piles that surround you. I ask clients to change their viewpoint and start to see piles as a symptom of postponed decision-making.

Stop Wasting Time! Avoid These 12 Things

Your time management habits need to be improved. I’m not trying to single you out, but seriously, most of us could improve the way we manage our time. Especially leaders. In my long tenure as a leadership coach and trainer, I’ve noted that time management is one of the biggest challenges most leaders face and is one of the easiest to fix.

The "T"-Letter: The Cover Letter for the CEO of ME, Inc.

Colleagues,

Regards from Las Vegas, Nevada (UNITY 2012 Convention).

There are many formats to choose from when drafting a cover letter.  Many people prefer a straightforward, paragraph–based cover letter simply because they’re comfortable with it or possibly because they haven’t heard of other, possibly better formats.

Enlist Your Self Control and Achieve Even More

Self-control is defined as “control of oneself” or the “ability to master one’s desires and impulses. Interestingly, self-control is actually perceived in a number of ways. Psychologically, self-control usually refers to a person’s self-perception, belief system, as well as the ability to set boundaries on their own behavior.

TOP 10 INSPIRATIONAL QUOTES FOR ENTREPRENEURS

#1: Steve Jobs, Apple

"Believe that things will work somehow out... follow your intuition

and curiosity... trust your heart even when it leads you off the

well-worn path... You have to trust that the dots will somehow

connect in your future... The only way to do great work is to love

what you do. If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't

settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find

it... Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They

somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else

is secondary."

Let’s Talk about the Three A’s: Age, Appearance, and Attitude

by Dr. Stephen A. Laser

While probably not politically correct, the fact is the Three A’s — age, appearance, and attitude — have a major impact on the plight of the older, unemployed worker. If people think that these characteristics don’t really matter when evaluating an applicant’s chances of success in finding a job offer, they are mistaken. Studies have shown that, for better or worse, personal appearance and the ability to communicate clearly and convincingly are probably the two factors that predict best as to whether a person will ultimately land a job.

8 Ideas for Getting Things Done the Right Way

Are you busy all day but never seem to get ahead? Solve the problem by using these time management tips to focus your work and be more successful.

We all want more success and the fear of failure can often be the driving force of our actions.  We work long hours, sacrifice personal time, and even sleep.  We put our heart and soul into what we're trying to achieve, only to find that we're spinning our wheels.  We think we're getting things done, because at the end of the day all of our Action List items are crossed out; but did we really get closer to achieving our goals?  The fact is, most of us accomplish a whole list of things by the end of the day, but have little to show for it.  Your success depends on what you are doing and the way you are getting things done.  If you're not moving closer to your goal achievement, you are not getting things done the right way.
